SpaceX Dragon Launched Today

The Big Picture:

Yesterday's launch of SpaceX's Dragon cargo delivery to the International Space Station (ISS) was delayed until today. It lifted off atop a Falcon 9 rocket around 12:30pm at Cape Canaveral. It should reach the ISS by Sunday.

What's It Carrying?

Among the 5,700 pounds of supplies are genetically enhanced mice to help understand muscle and bone loss in humans in space, and experiments to test basic theories of gravity, study how fire behaves in space and research potential therapies for heart disease.
